Her father, Amon Ko, eldest son of Amon So and older brother of Jo, left the Amon Clan after realizing that strength alone could never fill the emptiness inside him. What he had believed was a need for more power was really a desire for love, companionship, and a life beyond constant violence. He found that life with a woman named Reina, daughter of Daidoji Minoru. When Reina became pregnant, the two eloped together, choosing each other over the families and lives they had been born into.
Their union angered both families. Ko was seen as a traitor by the clan. Meanwhile Minoru had planned to marry Reina to one of his political allies to strengthen the Daidoji's influence, but Ko made sure that would never happen. Even after leaving the Amon Clan, he was still its former heir, and his strength had not disappeared with his title. When he defended Reina, he nearly killed the man she was meant to marry, making it clear that not even the feared Daidoji faction or the “Fixer” would be able to take her back by force. After that, Ko and Reina disappeared together, determined to give their daughter the peaceful childhood they had never been allowed to have.
For twelve years, Airi knew nothing but love from her parents. They raised her far away from both the Amon and Daidoji families, and those years became the happiest of her life. That happiness ended in 1997, when Reina died of cancer. Her death broke Ko. The warm and affectionate father Airi had grown up with slowly disappeared, replaced by a man consumed by grief. Believing that the world would not show his daughter any mercy, he decided to prepare her for it in the only way he knew.
From that point on, Airi was raised under the harsh discipline of the Amon Clan. Her childhood was replaced by endless training and lessons meant to turn her into the perfect assassin. By fifteen, she had skills that could rival killers much older than her. Even so, Ko left her with one rule he would never allow her to break: never accept a contract against an innocent person. It was that one part of his own humanity that remained, and Airi followed that rule without exception.
Despite this, the years slowly changed her. The cheerful and affectionate girl who once laughed freely became quiet, guarded, and distrustful of others. She buried her emotions under discipline and duty, refusing to show the same vulnerability she once had. Grief also made her sharp-tongued throughout her teenage years, but she never stopped loving Ko. She mourned not only her mother, but also the father he had once been.
When Airi turned eighteen in 2003, Ko decided that his final lesson was over. Believing that she no longer needed him and wanting to be reunited with Reina, he took his own life. His death destroyed what little remained of Airi's old life. Her grief turned into anger, and her anger slowly buried what compassion she had left. She began wandering across Japan, picking fights with street gangs and yakuza and tearing apart criminal operations. She was not trying to be a hero. Violence was simply the only thing she still understood.
Innocent people often ended up being saved because of her actions, but Airi refused their thanks. She rejected kindness, companionship, and even the idea that she deserved either. Over time, she began using the name Shinigami. Under that name, she became one of the most feared assassins in the criminal underworld, gaining an international reputation for never failing a contract she accepted. There was, however, one important warning attached to her name. Anyone who tried to hire Shinigami to kill an innocent person rarely lived long enough to regret it. More than one crime lord learned that trying to deceive her only put their own name at the top of her list.
Stories about Shinigami eventually spread across countries. Entire trafficking networks disappeared without a trace, their victims rescued before authorities even knew they existed. Terrorist cells were destroyed hours before planned attacks, with their leaders later found dead in locked rooms. Illegal weapons deals were stopped overnight. Corrupt officials involved in child exploitation disappeared without explanation. Smuggling rings transporting refugees and vulnerable people were stopped before they could reach their buyers, while the men behind them were never seen again. Groups involved in torture, extortion, organ trafficking, and slavery learned to fear a simple rumor: Shinigami had taken an interest in them. To innocent people, she became an unseen protector. To those who preyed on the helpless, she was something far worse than an assassin. She was inevitable.
During those years she took her cousin Marin under her wing, after the mere sixteen year old had been exiled by her own father (Amon Jo) for refusing to kill a teenage girl who had hired the clan to end her own life. She became a mentor to the younger girl and the only true family she's ever had.
By 2012, Airi had spent almost a decade pushing away everything that remained of the girl she used to be. Shinigami was no longer just a name. It had become who she was. That began to change when she met a man whose bravery, strong morals, and kindness genuinely confused her. Their paths crossed during one of her jobs, and what should have been nothing more than a brief encounter became the first real crack in the way she saw the world.
His actions made Airi question things she had accepted for years. She believed compassion was a weakness and that violence was the only thing people truly understood. Yet this man kept putting himself in danger for other people without asking for anything in return. The more she watched him, the harder it became to dismiss him as naïve. He helped people simply because they needed help, even when it cost him. In the end, he sacrificed everything and went to prison to erase the stain of his past and so his children would never feel ashamed of calling him their father. For the first time in years, Airi began to wonder if being strong really meant becoming cruel.
In 2016, Airi received news of his death. She took it badly and fell into a severe depression. After spending so many years convincing herself that she needed no one, she was left with a void that violence could not fill. She failed to let him know he actually changed her for the better. Around this time, she met a woman named Tenryū Yuki, whose kindness and selflessness reminded her of the man she had lost. The two slowly became friends, something Airi had not allowed herself to have in years.
Eventually, Airi told Yuki why she had become so depressed and explained who the man had been to her. Instead of telling her to move on, Yuki suggested that she honor him by doing what he had done: helping people and fixing their problems. The idea stayed with Airi. For the first time, she started wondering if there was another way for her to live.
Inspired by Yuki, Airi eventually abandoned the name Shinigami and retired from assassination. She formed Higanbana, an all-female group of fixers and helpers who offered their services to people who had nowhere else to turn. Higanbana mainly focused on helping others, though Airi and the group occasionally acted as vigilantes when the law failed to protect someone. She was not trying to erase her past. Instead, she was trying to use everything she had learned for something better.
Around 2018, the Daidoji faction approached Airi again. Her grandfather, Daidoji Minoru, had tried to reach out to her in 2016 as his health was failing, hoping to make peace with what was left behind by the daughter he had abandoned. Airi refused to meet him. She wanted nothing to do with the family that had once tried to control her mother's life. Minoru genuinely wanted to make things right, but the Daidoji faction had another reason for approaching Airi. They wanted Shinigami working for them, believing her skills would make her a valuable asset. Though the man passed away with that regret.
However, things changed later on when one of their agents told her something that completely shook her. The man from her past, the one she had mourned and wished she could see again, was not dead. He was alive. Airi agreed to see for herself. When she discovered that he really was alive, but had been kept under the Daidoji faction's control and forced into a life of self-erasure, she nearly tore the entire organization apart. She threatened to kill everyone responsible and make sure no one could ever use him again. Her anger was only stopped when the faction threatened his family in return.
With no other choice, Airi agreed to work with the Daidoji faction, but not for them. She would cooperate with them in exchange for access to the man they had kept from her and the whole world. More importantly, she wanted to make sure they never forced him to do anything that went against the same morals she had come to admire so much. That was the only arrangement she was willing to accept.
From then on, Airi lived a double life. Within the Daidoji faction, she worked under the pseudonym Kara, while outside of it she remained the proud leader of Higanbana. She had no real loyalty to the Daidoji faction or its interests. Her main concern was the man she had finally found again. She wanted to keep him company, protect him from being used by the faction, and make sure they never forced him to abandon the principles that had changed her own life.
By 2024, Airi finally retired from the Daidoji faction and chose to remain at the man's side while he recovered from his illness. Meanwhile, Higanbana continued its work, helping Dojima Daigo, Majima Goro, and Saejima Taiga, as well as Kasuga Ichiban, in their efforts to help former members of the yakuza find work and build normal lives in a society that refused to give them that chance. What had started as Airi's way of honoring one man had eventually become something much bigger. She had built a life around helping the people she once believed the world had taught her to ignore.
amon ko

Connection: Father
Status: (†) in 2003Notes: eldest son of Amon So and older brother to Jo and Noa, he abandoned the Amon clan back in 1987 and eloped with his sweetheart. He finally realised that the void in his soul couldn't be filled by the endless pursuit of strength, but instead love was what he lacked. To this day he is still considered by his kin a shameful stain and a weak minded traitor despite having been one of the strongest members. After all, So had chosen him as his heir before his betrayal.
DAIDOJI REINA

Connection: Mother
Status: (†) in 1997Notes: The estranged daughter of Admiral Daidoji Minoru. Reina was destined to be used as a bargain chip by being married off to one of her father's political allies. But true love came to her in the shape of aviator glasses and a black raincoat. She fell head over heels with a vicious assassin from the Amon clan and got pregnant by him. That was their cue to elope and go off the radar. Unfortunately Reina passed away after many years of happiness with her husband and daughter.
AMON JO

Connection: Paternal uncleNotes: current leader of the Amon clan and younger brother of Ko. His relationship with his niece is extremely poor for several reasons:
1. He mocked Ko at his funeral, calling him weak and saying he trained Airi to be mediocre at best.
2. Exiled his daughter Marin for having failed her first assassination.
3. Tried to kill Kiryu Kazuma throughout the years.Airi DESPISES her uncle and has refused to be associated with him or his disciples. Her fame as Shinigami was the best vengeance she could think of."Who's mediocre now, delusional old man?"Was what she said when they met again after years. Not to mention, she thoroughly enjoyed mocking him for constantly losing to the Dragon of Dojima.
AMON MARIN

Connection: Paternal cousinNotes: daughter of Amon Jo, she got exiled for refusing to kill her target on her first assassination job. After all, it was just a young girl who hired an assassin for her own execution. Marin instead smuggled her out of her horrifying situation. After her exile, Marin met Airi who took her under her wing. She also recently joined Airi's group of fixers: Higanbana.
AMON MANA

Connection: Paternal auntNotes: Older daughter of Amon So, she's Airi's older aunt and the most unnerving member of Higanbana. Airi can NEVER figure her out even if her life depended on it. Still, she's the only person she considers her blood family together with Marin. So she does trust her, even if she'll never admit it.
AMON NOA

Connection: Paternal auntNotes: The youngest member of the Amon clan and Airi's aunt despite being much younger than her. The two barely have a bond, for Airi refuses to see her or the rest of the clan as family. Though she may have threatened her life for getting TOO CLOSE to a certain idol back in 2012...
DAIDOJI MINORU

Connection: Maternal grandfather
Status: (†) in 2016Notes: Admiral Daidoji Minoru, a WW2 hero and influential political figure of the CLP. Also known as the "fixer". He founded the Daidoji faction, a secret organisation that keeps control over the country through legal means (aka the Citizens' Liberal Party) and illegal (network of spies and assassins). He disowned his own daughter for eloping with an assassin instead of marrying one of his political allies. Later on, close to his final moments, he regretted it and demanded his agents to find his granddaughter Airi so that he could apologise and be forgiven. Unfortunately for him, that redemption never came. As per his last request, the Daidoji faction keeps on trying to recruit Airi. "For the betterment of our country and the legacy your grandfather left behind" they said, but Airi showed absolutely no interest in them. Until...
kiryu kazuma
In 2012, Airi found herself in Fukuoka. She had been hired to kill Katagiri Hiroshi, a brutal crime lord who had been bullying restaurants and small businesses into either selling their properties for cheap or shutting down completely. His goal was simple: slowly take control of Fukuoka and the surrounding towns until there was no one left to stand in his way.
Her first meeting with Kiryu happened by complete chance. Still using his alias, Suzuki Taichi, he picked her up from the airport after she called for a taxi. During the ride, Airi casually asked about a restaurant in the city. She already knew it had closed after being vandalized, but she needed an excuse to start a conversation. Suzuki told her about the incident, and she asked if that sort of thing was common in Fukuoka. He paused for a moment before admitting that, now that he thought about it, similar incidents had been happening more and more often.
That was all Airi needed to hear. She knew she had to keep a close eye on the businesses being targeted by Katagiri and his men. The two parted ways when she reached her hotel, and Airi began investigating.
As luck would have it, her investigation soon led her to Nagasu Taxi, one of Katagiri's newest targets. At first, his men only tried to intimidate the employees into giving up. Kiryu stepped in and sent them away. Airi watched from a distance, curious about the strange taxi driver who seemed far too willing to involve himself in other people's problems. A few days later, the intimidation turned into outright violence, and Kiryu once again stood between the attackers and the people he had come to care about.
By then, Airi had become increasingly curious about him. His fighting style had given away something his alias could not. The way he fought was familiar. She recognized the Komaki Style, a martial art she herself had once picked up by repeatedly fighting her own uncle. Amon Jo had copied it from none other than the Dragon of Dojima himself, Kiryu Kazuma and by stealing a scroll from Komaki Sotaro. Suddenly, the harmless-looking taxi driver became much more interesting.
That night, Airi approached him as he returned home from work. She told him who was behind the attacks on Nagasu Taxi and gave him Katagiri's name and the address of his HQ. She had no intention of helping him out of kindness. She simply wanted to see what the legendary Kiryu Kazuma would do with the information.
She was disappointed. Kiryu defeated Katagiri and his men, but he refused to kill them. To Airi, it was proof that the famous Dragon of Dojima was not as strong as the stories claimed. She had spent her entire life believing that monsters only stopped when someone made certain they could never hurt anyone again. Mercy, in her eyes, only gave them another chance to hurt someone else. Her belief was proven right when Katagiri retaliated. Nakajima Yotaro nearly paid for Kiryu's mercy with his life.
Airi returned to Kiryu soon after and confronted him about it. She told him that “ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves”. Sparing a monster would not make it better. It would only give it another opportunity to hurt innocent people. Second chances, in her eyes, were wasted on people who had already shown exactly what they were capable of. If Kiryu truly wanted to protect the people he cared about, then he needed to be willing to kill those who threatened them.
She told him she was disappointed in the famous Kiryu Kazuma, the man who had defeated even some of the strongest members of the Amon Clan. To her, he was a weak-minded man who had allowed his own principles to get in the way of protecting the people he loved. If he could not finish the job, then she would do it for him.
Airi went after Katagiri and his men, fully aware that Kiryu was following her. She could have disappeared without a trace, as she had done countless times before, but she deliberately allowed him to keep up. If he wanted to see how Shinigami handled things, then she would show him.
The final confrontation left Airi facing thirty-four men on her own. She cut through them with the same cold precision that had made Shinigami a name feared across the criminal underworld. Then Kiryu stepped in and joined the fight.
During the chaos, one of the men managed to get close enough to strike. Kiryu moved before Airi could react and took the blade to his side instead. For a moment, Airi froze. Nobody had ever done that for her. Not for Shinigami. Not for Airi. Not even when she had spent the entire night insulting him and treating him as though he were beneath her. Yet this man had still thrown himself between her and a blade without hesitation. Something inside her broke.
Airi lost control. She killed everyone left in the room, leaving no one alive to come after them again. Then she dragged Kiryu back to his cramped apartment and stitched his wound herself. Thankfully, the blade had missed his organs and major blood vessels, leaving him badly injured but not in need of major surgery.
While she worked, the two finally had a proper conversation. Airi questioned his actions, demanding to know why he had taken the blade for someone who had treated him with nothing but contempt. Kiryu's answer only made things worse for her. Despite everything she had said to him, he told her that he knew she was different from the Amon Clan he had encountered before. She killed because she did not want innocent people to die. She cared about people even if she refused to admit it.
And he had proof. She had been worried about him. She had panicked when he was injured. She had immediately brought him home and patched him up herself. To Kiryu, those things were enough to show that there was still a deeply human part of Airi underneath everything she had built around herself. She simply refused to look at it. Being seen that way made Airi deeply uncomfortable. The woman Kiryu described did not match the person she saw staring back at her whenever she gazed into a mirror. She had spent years convincing herself that she was Shinigami, a monster without weakness or attachments. Having someone look past all of that so easily was almost frightening.
So she left. She did not want to hear anything else. Even after leaving, however, Airi remained close by. She watched Kiryu from a distance and began noticing something she had never paid attention to before. He kept helping people. Random people with random problems that had nothing to do with him. He treated them with the same patience and kindness he had shown her, even when they had nothing to offer him in return.
That was when it finally hit her. None of it was an act. Kiryu was not being kind because he wanted to prove something. He was not trying to live up to the legend of the Dragon of Dojima. He simply helped people because that was who he was. That was his real strength. Not his fists. Not his reputation. Not even the countless enemies he had defeated. What made Kiryu different was that despite everything the world had done to him, he had somehow remained kind.
Airi had spent her entire life becoming the opposite. She had turned herself into someone who could not be hurt because she believed having something to lose was weakness. Kiryu had people he loved, people who could love him despite his past, and things he could lose. Yet those attachments were exactly what gave his life meaning. For the first time, Airi began to wonder if perhaps she had misunderstood strength all along.
That's why she left a note in his apartment. “Thank you, and sorry." Cut and dry, but made sure to leave behind an Eye of the Dragon as a keepsake of their powerful encounter.
When she eventually left Fukuoka, she decided to repay the debt she believed she owed him. She went to Osaka to keep an eye on his daughter, Haruka. She watched from the shadows as Haruka grew more famous as an idol, quietly dealing with thugs, stalkers, and the occasional overzealous fan before they could become a real threat. It was the closest thing Airi could offer to saying thank you.
Then Kiryu willingly went to prison after the events surrounding the Tojo Clan and Omi Alliance. Airi was furious. She could not understand how a man who had spent so much of his life protecting others could once again choose to sacrifice himself. When everything was finally over, her anger turned toward those responsible. She found Kurosawa Tsubasa, Aizawa Masato, and the men who had supported them and killed them without hesitation. In her mind, they should have paid the price. Not Kiryu.
For the years Kiryu spent in prison, Airi waited for the day he would be released. She never approached his children and never tried to interfere with their lives, but she quietly sent money to the orphanage every month so they would continue to have what they needed. It was her way of staying connected to the life he had built without forcing herself into it.
Then, in 2016, the Daidoji faction approached her. Her grandfather, the famous Admiral Daidoji Minoru, was dying and wanted to see her before his death. Airi refused. She had spent too many years keeping the Daidoji name out of her life to suddenly welcome them back. It would become one of her greatest regrets.
Only days later, Airi watched the news and heard the words that destroyed everything she had spent years holding together. Kiryu Kazuma had died in Onomichi. The man she had once considered a curiosity had become the person who changed the way she saw the world. The man she had mocked for being too merciful had taught her that kindness could be strength. The man she had believed was weak for caring about others had become the reason she had started questioning all her life choices. And now he was gone.
Airi fell into a severe depression. She had already lost her parents. She had spent years believing she had finally made peace with loss, only to discover that losing Kiryu hurt in an entirely different way. She had never told him what he had become to her. She had never thanked him properly. She had never even told him that the life she was living was, in many ways, because of him. He changed her.
Yuki was the person who eventually helped her through it. Airi opened up about Kiryu and explained how much his death had affected her. Yuki reminded her that if Kiryu had meant so much to her, then perhaps the best way to honor him was to continue doing what he had taught her without ever intending to teach her anything at all: help people. That became the foundation of Higanbana.
Airi retired from assassination and devoted herself to helping people instead. Higanbana became an all-female group of fixers, helpers, and occasional vigilantes who took on problems that ordinary people could not solve on their own. Every person they helped became, in Airi's mind, another small piece of the debt she could never truly repay.
Around 2018, the Daidoji faction approached Airi again. Her grandfather's death had left behind unresolved matters, but this time they came with something far more important than family. One of their agents told her that Kiryu was alive. Airi refused to believe them until she saw him herself. When she finally discovered that Kiryu had survived and was being kept under the Daidoji faction's control, she nearly killed everyone in the room. The idea that he had been alive all those years while she had mourned him was already enough to shake her. Learning that he had been forced into a life away from his family and those who loved him pushed her over the edge.
She threatened to destroy the entire faction. The only thing that stopped her was the threat against Kiryu's family. Airi eventually agreed to work with the Daidoji, but never for them. She would operate under the pseudonym Kara and assist the faction on her own terms, in exchange for access to Kiryu and the ability to make sure they did not force him to do anything that went against his morals. Her real reason for staying was much simpler. Kiryu had spent years of his life protecting everyone else. Airi wanted, for once, to be the person who stayed behind to protect him.
During those years, she became a constant presence in his life. She kept him company when he had little else. She listened when he wanted to talk and stayed quiet when he did not. She made sure he ate, helped him when his health began to decline, and quietly watched over him whenever the Daidoji faction became too demanding. She never treated him like the legendary Dragon of Dojima. To her, he was simply Kiryu, the stubborn man who had once taken a blade meant for her and somehow convinced her that she was still human. At the same time, she continued leading Higanbana.
By 2024, Airi finally retired from the Daidoji faction. She no longer had any reason to remain an agent, and she had no interest in being used as a weapon again. Instead, she chose to stay at Kiryu's side while he recovered from his illness. For Airi, it was never about repaying a debt anymore. That debt had been repaid years ago. She simply did not want Kiryu to spend the rest of his life alone. After everything he had sacrificed for other people, Airi wanted him to finally have someone who would stay. And for a woman who had once believed that caring about someone was the greatest weakness a person could have, there was no greater proof that Kiryu had changed her than that.
The Amon Clan: Inhuman Physiology and the Architecture of the Predator
The Amon clan's reputation for superhuman ability is not just legend or mere superstition. The Amon clan's inhuman abilities come from a hereditary difference in their bodies and nervous systems.
Their extreme strength, senses, reflexes and pain tolerance all come from the same abnormal physiology.
They are not simply stronger or faster than normal humans.
Their entire nervous system is built for violence.I. Hysterical Strength
An Amon's hypothalamus is wired to release extreme amounts of adrenaline and stress hormones. This temporarily pushes their muscles beyond their normal limits, giving them what the clan calls “hysterical strength.”
Under extreme stress, an Amon can access far more physical strength than they normally could, while their pain and fatigue are temporarily suppressed.
The more dangerous the situation, the harder their body pushes itself.
Their body prioritizes survival over its own limits.II. Dynamic Vision
An Amon's visual system is capable of processing movement at an extraordinary speed. Their enhanced dynamic vision allows them to track rapid motion, detect minute changes in posture and trajectory, and process several visual cues simultaneously. Under extreme adrenaline, this ability intensifies further, producing a biological phenomenon depicted in the movie Wanted (2009): their perception accelerates so dramatically that the world appears to slow down around them. They do not actually slow their surroundings.Their brains simply process visual information vastly faster than a normal human's.
This allows an Amon to perceive and react to movements that would otherwise be nearly impossible to follow.II-A. Nocturnal Vision
An Amon's eyes possess a reflective retinal layer similar to the tapetum lucidum found in nocturnal animals. This allows them to make far better use of available light, giving them exceptional vision in darkness. They cannot see in absolute darkness, but even faint light is enough for them to perceive shapes, movement and depth where an ordinary human would see almost nothing. The same reflective layer produces the Amon's characteristic cat-like eye shine, causing their eyes to glow when struck by light in the dark.
Turning off the lights does not make an Amon blind. It just makes everyone else easier to hunt.III. Hyperstimulated Reaction
An Amon's body produces powerful stimulants that flood the brain during stress and heightened states. Combined with their highly developed basal ganglia and fast neural pathways, this allows them to process information and react at extreme speeds.Their reaction time may reach approximately 27 milliseconds, nearly ten times faster than a normal human's.
They can begin moving before an ordinary person has finished processing what they saw.IV. Accelerated Neural Conduction
An Amon's nervous system is built to transmit signals extremely quickly. Their nerves carry information between the brain and body with very little delay, allowing them to process, decide and move almost seamlessly.
Their brain is fast. Their nerves are fast. Their body is fast.V. Pain Suppression
An Amon does not necessarily feel less pain. Their nervous system is simply capable of suppressing its conscious perception during extreme stress. Their neurochemical response temporarily prioritizes survival and movement over pain, allowing them to continue fighting despite serious injuries. The injury remains. The pain remains.
Their brain simply decides it can wait.VI. The Cerebellar Engine
An Amon's cerebellum is unusually developed, giving them exceptional balance, coordination, timing and motor learning. Their bodies can make tiny adjustments automatically, allowing them to perform complex movements with unnatural precision. This also enables their copycat ability. By watching a technique, an Amon can quickly understand its movements and teach their own body to reproduce them. However, they cannot copy what their body is physically incapable of doing. They can learn a movement almost instantly, but still need the strength, flexibility and conditioning to perform it perfectly.
They can copy movement. They cannot copy anatomy.VII. Proprioception
An Amon has an unusually strong sense of where their body is in space. They can tell the position and movement of their limbs without needing to look. This lets them move with extreme accuracy, even in darkness or while disoriented.
Their body always knows where it is.VIII. Vestibular System
An Amon's inner ear and brain are unusually good at keeping their balance and sense of direction. They can recover quickly from spins, falls, sudden movements and impacts. Even when thrown off balance, they can quickly figure out where they are and how to move.
Disorienting an Amon is harder than it should be.IX. Hyperawareness
An Amon's senses work together to create an unusually strong awareness of their surroundings. They can quickly notice changes in movement, sound, position and distance around them.
This lets them stay aware of several things at once, even in the middle of a fight.
An Amon is rarely unaware of what is happening around them.X. The Amon Feedback Loop
An Amon's abilities work together rather than separately. Adrenaline boosts their strength and senses, their senses improve their reactions, and their reactions help their body move faster and more accurately. Each ability supports the others, making the Amon more dangerous as a fight continues.
The more their body is pushed, the harder it pushes back.XII. Why They Seem Inhuman
An Amon's abilities are not separate powers. They all work together, making their strength, speed, senses and reactions far beyond what a normal human can achieve. They can still be injured, exhausted and killed.
They are not invincible. Their bodies are simply built to push far past normal human limits.XIII. Bloodline Differences
The Amon traits are present throughout the clan, but they are not equally strong in every bloodline. The main bloodline has the most complete expression of Amon physiology. Their strength, reflexes, senses and neurological abilities tend to be far more developed and work together more naturally. The secondary bloodline still carries these traits, but they are more varied. One Amon may have exceptional reflexes while another has greater strength or sharper senses.
The main bloodline has the highest potential. The secondary bloodline has greater variation.THAT BEING SAID, that is all moot when they face the protagonists so…that should say A LOT about Kiryu and the others.
